  Function            ROM_date - gets the ROM id date

  Syntax              byte ROM_date(void);

  Prototype in        ibm.h

  Remarks             finds the ROM id date at F000:FFF5

  Return value        returns a pointer to the storage location
                      containing the string, or NULL if space could not
                      be allocated.
